NUMBER 1 SPOT: Whilst the Maxx is more of a monster truck, the Sledge is more like a truggy with a larger scale, 6S power and amongst the best looking Traxxas models today.
TOP PICKS: The Arrma 3S series gives every bit of value for your money. The Vendetta is light and come with the 3900kv motor. On 3S with an 80c, 100c or 120c battery and optional speed pinion are blazing fast and others will struggle to keep up with, even 6S models. Parts and repairs are relatively cheap and you get an RC that is quite versatile, can be used for drag, drift and track. Perfect Xmas gift. Prices on the 3S Vendetta and Infraction should be good at the moment. The Arrma FireTeam is a well balanced and ferocious 6S model that you can currently get at a very good price as it’s being discounted woeldwide. There is no beating around the bush with the FireTeam, either you love it or you hate it. It’s just something different than the monster truck series. It’s a great basher, comes with a handbrake function and diff oil distribution that makes it corner like crazy. The FTX Texan is a real value for money quality crawler that comes with upgrades as stock like alloy drive shafts and links as well as lights. The FTX Furycame back for another round with an improved V2 and looks way more awesome in your hand than in these pictures. It’s body and some other sections were redesigned and looks and crawls even better than before. The Traxxas Maxx V2 remains a favorite for it’s toughness and 4S torque, a very good basher. Look out for the old Maxx V1, prices should go down due to the V2 and getting a V1 at a good price is worth every cent, the V1 was and still remains one of the best trucks yet from Traxxas. The ZD Racing DBX07 is quite cool, EVO RC got this as a roller and built it up with 6S power a few months ago. Very well built, performs well, comes with stunning body details, lights front and back and looks awesome. The X-MAXX, well it’s one of the top 3 bashers in the world, so you can imagine it’s pretty good. But it’s been there for a while and with the new XRT being launched, prices for the X-MAXX may go down and you may get one at a good price.
